I spoke with Parking Services this week about volunteer parking during the regular business hours (Monday-Friday 9am-5pm). Sometimes we have shifts during these times and we want to make sure you’re not ticketed when you park. Usually you park in the C lots that are East of the Center and extend down to the Compton Ice Arena. These lots now have signage that say Valid Permit Required. Now they haven’t been ticketing any of the ushers for parking there, but Parking Services said it’s always a possibility.
So to avoid getting a ticket, the easiest thing to do is to get a day pass at the main gate, which is the gate at the entrance to the bookstore. I will let Parking know beforehand of any day shifts we have and just let the guard know you are volunteering at DPAC and they will give you a pass, no problem. Then you can park in the C lot and not have to worry about getting a ticket. If you have a regular campus parking pass already then you have no need to do this. But if you don’t have one please give yourself a little extra time to get to your shift so you can take care of getting the pass. I know parking’s hard enough but we just want to make sure you’re not surprised with a pricey ticket when you get back to your car. Thanks!
